“Mint” Personal Money Management Software Wins TechCrunch Award
For over a year now, I’ve been thinking about getting either Quicken or MS Money to help truly understand where money is flowing in and out of my accounts. I usually truly get my scare once a year when I sit down with my trusted accountant and good friend of mine and start looking at everything, so why not stay on top of it all year round. The prob is, after researching both Quicken and MS Money, I read some pretty mixed reviews about both, and just decided to put it off.
Yesterday, I tried using this free online software called Mint that just won the TechCrunch award. Although I had trouble hooking up my bank account to this free online software, I was impressed by screenshots that I saw. I guess Mint will break out all your expenditures, and will push credit card offers, internet service, loans, you name it, that will save you money right there on the screen. The big thing is, right there it will instantly tell you exactly how much you will save by taking their alternative. This is very powerful so I’m looking forward to seeing how it works.
I’m wondering if it will break down the expensive cannolis I like to buy in Boston’s Italian North End and recommend the more reasonable alternative from a local bakery.
